About Bishop Stone
Bishop Stone & Metal Arts was founded by Justin Bishop, a recognized sculptor and artist, and later joined by Steven Baker, a close friend and colleague. The two joined forces and set out to make an impact on the stone engraving and monument inscription industry throughout Central Virginia.
Bishop Stone can take any existing text or artwork on any memorial/stone, and match it identically, something that every stone engraving company cannot guarantee. The goal when matching existing lettering is to make it appear as though all lettering was put on the stone simultaneously; this is something Bishop Stone aims to achieve with every engraving.

Who We Are
Justin Bishop
Justin Bishop attended Radford University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Art. After graduating from Radford, he spent three years apprenticing at the esteemed Johnson Atelier, where he studied foundry arts and sculpture. He later earned a master’s degree in Fine Art from Georgia State University. Justin learned the monument business by spending his summers at the A.P. Grappone & Sons monument company in Richmond, VA. Justin founded Bishop Stone and Metal Arts in 2007, as a master engraver, he handles a majority of the engraving.
